One of the most important things in our life is “Work life balance”. Different people have written different thoughts on it but the end motive is same. Balancing our work and our lifestyle is as important as balancing our diet. If we don’t balance either of those, we might lead to health issues.

More we grow, better we know value of “Work life balance”

Work life balance is something which is not equally important to everyone. Many people prefer to work more than giving time to themselves, on the other hand people are found worrying less about their work and giving more time to themselves. But, as they grow, they keep knowing it better and try to adjust their schedules. But sometimes, it’s too late and they end up with a big mess.

Why work and lifestyle is equally important.

Work and Healthy lifestyle, both are important to Survive. It’s said that, “Life is nothing without money” but a more important thing is completely forgotten i.e. “Money is nothing without a good health”. So, both of these things are completely interconnected.

it’s important to give time to our family, friends and of course ourselves too. However, it’s equally important to give balanced amount of time to your work too.

What things can be helpful for work life balance

Work life balance is not something very easy to manage, it might require different plans for different people due to different working styles, living style and even different fields. In this article, I would cover some very basic things which might work for few of us.

  • Learn to say “no”
  • Planning
  • Punctuality
  • Think before giving estimations
  • Minimize multitasking
  • Set a work routine
  • Self motivation

Learn to say “No”

One of the biggest reason is when we don’t say “no” and welcome every task given. This is more important to think thrice before saying “yes”. It’s like, we are ruining our own lives and no-one can help us.

Planning

Due to the nature of corporate sector, we are tasked with much amount of work, which sometimes might require extra efforts also. But, if we plan our way of work as per our task list, we can definitely do better. So, if I am a content writer, and I write 6 articles a day (8 hours) where I have been given 33 articles to be finished in 5 days, all this requires is 4 extra hours, which can easily be adjusted by coming 15 minutes early, shrink 15 minutes lunch time and leave 15 minutes late. It’s all about planning, but making sure that we are not pressurized.

Punctuality

Being on time will help us being more productive. If we are punctual to our timings, does clearly mean that we are punctual to our work too. Punctuality doesn’t mean only coming to office early, it has a major factor, that is to make sure that you finish your task in the given estimated time.

Think before giving estimations

Wrong estimations or estimations given under any kind of pressure might lead to a worst future. Thinking 3 times giving estimation is very important to have a good work life balance. This is also something like we are ruining our own life.

Minimize multitasking

Try to minimize multitasking and focus on deadlines. There are some good articles on this topic already which could be found on Google. Focus on task, not multitasking.

Set a work routine

Setting a work routine is very important to have a work life balance. It’s not about setting a routine for whole year, It could be based on the project and requirements too.

Self motivation

Motivation is a big factor in productivity. Always be motivated and keep trust on ourselves. it’s important to keep good works we have done in our mind always. It’s said that “No one can motivate you, if you are not willing to yourself.
